Research Labs

In BlastoDB provides a list of research labs working on Blastocystis (www.blastodb.com/labs). Here you find a guide on how to edit this information in the admin panel, and get an overview and description of all parameters.

Editing the Research Labs

You can edit the content by opening the Community collection on the left side on the admin panel, and opening the Research Labs entery (www.blastodb.com/admin/#/collections/community/entries/research_labs). Here, you can select which ones you want to edit.

Add a new Research Lab

  1. Scroll down to the bottom and click + Add Research Lab (This is easyer if you click collapse all on the top right)
  2. Input the relevant Data (you find a description of the fields below)
  3. Click Save on the top right -> The Website will be updated automatically within a few minutes

Edit an existing Research Lab

  1. Find the publication you want to edit. (This is easyer if you click collapse all on the top right)
  2. Edit the relevant Data (you find a description of the fields below)
  3. Click Save on the top right -> The Website will be updated automatically within a few minutes

You can also rearrange the order of the research labs (and how they are displayed) by using the arrows, or add an item above or below by clicking the three dots beside the x in an entery.

Delete a Research Lab

  1. Find the lab you need. (This is easyer if you click collapse all on the top right)
  2. Click the x at the top right of the publication entery to delete it
  3. Click Save on the top right -> The Website will be updated automatically within a few minutes
  4. Consider to delete uploaded images alongside the enteries to not clutter the repository data.

Fields

  1. Lab Name required - Name of the Lab

    • Enter via text input.

  2. Institution Logo - Image or link to the image of the institutions logo

    • You can provide the institution logo either as an uploaded file or as a URL — at least one is recommended. If both are provided, the uploaded file takes priority.
      • Uploaded logo: SVG, PNG or WebP on a transparent background works best
      • Logo URL: A direct link to the logo image from the institution's own website
    • Recommended size: 1200 × 600 px (2:1 ratio)
    • Format: JPG or WebP
    • The image will be cropped to a fixed-height banner — use a landscape photo and avoid placing important content at the very top or bottom edges

  3. Short description - Two to four sentences describing the lab's research focus

  4. Contact name required - Name of the contact person

    • The full name of the primary contact person, with the title, e.g. Dr Anastasios Tsaousis.

  5. Contact email required - The contact person's email address

  6. Contact webpage - URL to the contact person's webpage

  7. Contact image - Portrait of the contact person (optional)

    • Recommended size: 200 × 200 px minimum, square crop
    • Format: JPG or WebP
    • Ideally use a head-shot with the person not to far from the camera, otherwise they might not be visible.

  8. Name of Institution required - Name of the university or company the lab is part of

  9. Address of Institution required - Address of Institution or the Lab

    • Enter each line of the address on a separate line, e.g.:
      School of Biosciences
      Canterbury, Kent CT2 7NJ
      United Kingdom

  10. Country - The country the institution is in

    • Select the country from the list (the same list used for datasets).
    • This is used as the country shown on any Biobank entries affiliated with this lab, so please fill it in if the lab offers Biobank material.
